Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
There is nothing more rewarding in plastic surgery than taking someone's face, ravaged by an injury or birth defect, and rebuilding it, their self-image and their life. I have performed thousands of such plastic surgery operations and the joy that it brings to each patient and their family always reminds me what a privilege it is to be trained as a plastic surgeon.

What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
Plastic Surgery is one endeavor where rigid thinking and a standard approach does not always make for a good result. Each patient is unique in their problem and their goals and expectations. Creativity, an intricate knowledge of human anatomy, and an understanding of human psychology are paramount in obtaining a naturally-appearing result and a happy patient. Plastic surgery is more about making an operation adapt to each patient's needs and desires, rather than having patients fit the operation.

Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure?
A good outcome of any plastic surgery operation or treatment is when the patient says 'Doc, it is perfect!'
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
Breast augmentation. There is no plastic surgery operation where such a dramatic change is obtained in a very short period of time.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why?
Rhinoplasty. The intricacies and the delicate structure of the nose makes its surgical alterations and putting it into harmony with the rest of the face both challenging and very rewarding. The pride that each patient develops after surgery with their new nose is touching.
