57 year old, Female
This 57 year old female underwent lip augmentation with 1cc of Restylane and 12.5 units of Botox to the lips and chin. Dr. TerKonda often used very small amounts of Botox to decrease puckering of the lips, which is the source of wrinkles around the lips. When properly placed, perioral Botox will not alter lip function.

Restylane® Injection Photos - Angle 1
Details: At rest, notice the increase in fullness of the lips with lip augmentation. Even at rest, some patients (such as this patient)have a mild pucker that contributes to lip wrinkles. Botox relaxes the pucker and improves wrinkles.

Details: With puckering, the effects of Botox are seen with a decrease in wrinkles around the lips and improvement of of the "apple dumpling" chin.

Details: With aging, the upper lip becomes longer and flattens. Lip augmentation reestablishes the upper lip ledge found in youth.
