Dr. Christine Petti is the only child of Raymond Petti and the late Josephine Petti. She was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Dr. Petti attributes all her accomplishments to the attention and dedication she received from her loving and talented parents.
Dr. Petti received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame University, graduating summa cum laude in 1976. She then entered Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she received a research grant from the National Institute of Health and completed a research fellowship in the Department of Pharmacology in 1978.
In 1981, Dr. Petti earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She trained at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and in 1986 completed a full residency in general surgery with the additional awarded distinction of "Best Surgical Resident." She has been certified by the American Board of Surgery since 1988.
Upon completion of her general surgery residency, Dr. Christine Petti completed her plastic surgery residency at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. In 1988, she achieved the position of Chief Resident in plastic surgery. Dr. Petti has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1990. She is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as the prestigious and exclusive American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Petti has served Los Angeles, Torrance, and the South Bay area as an active plastic surgeon since 1988. She is a member of the medical staff of both Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Little Company of Mary Hospital, where she maintains full hospital privileges for all aspects of plastic and cosmetic surgery.
In the same year that Dr. Petti established her private practice, she also became Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California, a position she continues to hold. She has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1992.
Dr. Christine Petti has authored many scientific articles in plastic surgery that have been published in the United States and Canada. She has given scientific presentations for numerous professional surgical associations. Her significant findings on tumescent liposuction were presented at the annual scientific meeting of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in 1998.
Well known in the local and national medical communities, Dr. Petti has won local awards for Top Cosmetic Surgeon and such national awards as Top Doctor and Top Surgeon. She has also been featured on national and cable television. Dr. Petti has achieved the annual honor of being named the #1 Cosmetic Surgeon in The South Bay by the Daily Breeze of Los Angeles Readers Poll since 2004.
In her free time, Dr. Petti enjoys honing her athletic and artistic skills through such varied interests as ballet, skiing, jogging, and interior design. Dr. Petti and her husband, John Stoneburner, M.D., F.A.C.S., have two beautiful daughters and live in Palos Verdes, California. |
