 In 2006 I had a brain trauma injury that resulted in an unexpected weight gain of 45 lbs. I came to Dr. Menon for help because I had exhausted my personal efforts in trying to figure out a way of eating that would make me lose weight but would also give my body what it needs. Dr. Menon's own personal struggles with weight and her knowledge about how the body works and what the body needs to lose weight in a safe healthy way convinced me to use her program. In the first few weeks I was able to start the program with what I called a "no brain-er" approach being completely guided by Dr. Menon as she reset my body's cravings. This approach to weight loss is exactly what I needed due to repeated failures on my part to pick foods that are balanced and still produce weight loss. Weekly weigh-ins and checkups kept me on track and encouraged, addressing my questions plus teaching me how to incorporate healthy food into my diet as well as the importance of regular exercise. For the first time in my life I feel control over food instead of food controlling me!
