An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
It’s a tie between these three:
1) Receiving a college graduation announcement from a young man I’d delivered by emergency Cesarean Section 22 years previously inscribed with the personal message “thanks for saving my life”
2) The look of calm and relief I see on the faces of my previously frustrated and frazzled patients, now hormonally balanced, when they return for follow up.
3) When a young woman (23 year old) patient whom I’d done a Labiaplasty on three months previously , return and wish a #!*%-eating grin on her face, explained how wonderful sex had gotten to be now that her self esteem was “pumped” and she “didn’t feel deformed”
What is your favorite quote or saying?
Several actually
“Sex is one of the nine reasons for recreation the other eight are unimportant” --Henry Miller
“If I’d known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself” --(Jazz Pianist) Eddie Blake
“Like a bridge over troubled waters I will ease your mind” Paul Semon
“Sex is natural but not if its done right” --Unknown
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
I love being with and listening to, enjoying and exasperating with women. I enjoy and have the skill and patience to perform meticulous vulvar and vaginal surgery. I’m a gynecologist, hormone specialist and aesthetic vulvo vaginal surgeon. How lucky can I be?
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
A landscape architect, a gardener, a writer (well I already am), a bass player in a R+B Rock N Roll band….
Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure?
Where I’m satisfied with my work, the patient is happy, optimal function is attained and there’s no complication!
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
Labiaplasty, because I enjoy the fine meticulous work, have performed lots so I have my technique “down” and am warmed by the uniformly happy satisfied patient response.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
Actually I enjoy what I’m doing and don’t have retirement plans. I wouldn’t mind only working part-time though, giving me more time for writing, music, family, travelling, and hanging out at my second home in Bali, Indonesia.
