Dr. John Williams is a native of Ohio but moved to Texas with his family as a teenager. He received his Bachelors degree from prestigious Austin College in 1984 and went on to Texas Tech University where he earned his medical degree in 1988. He completed five years of General Surgery training in Houston followed by a one year Hand Surgery Fellowship. His Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training was completed in Michigan under the direction of world-renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Ian Jackson. He successfully completed his board exams in 1998 to earn the distinction of being Board Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the only recognized organization of board certified plastic surgeons - The American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He maintains full privileges at Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital and performs surgery at the Piper Outpatient Surgery Center or at the McDowell Mountain Outpatient Facility conveniently located one floor below his office.
Upon completion of his training, he entered a private practice in West Bloomfield, MI where he practiced for three years. In 1999, Dr. Williams and his family relocated to Scottsdale after falling in love with the area while visiting family. He subsequently opened his own practice in North Scottsdale. In the few short years that he has been in Scottsdale, his practice has seen meteoric growth. He has been featured in The Arizona Republic, Phoenix Magazine, Scottsdale Magazine, and on Fox News. He was voted one of the Top 101 doctors by 101 Magazine in its inaugural poll of its readers. He has a keen eye for aesthetic balance and proportion and has quickly earned a reputation as a highly skilled surgeon with a gentle and compassionate manner.
Dr. Williams has been married for almost 20 years and has three boys. He enjoys all sports, especially basketball, skiing, running and golf. He volunteers regularly as a youth basketball coach at the Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale.
