Aldo Benjamin Guerra, M.D., F.A.C.S. has always been a driven and creative individual, especially when it comes to helping others. As a young man he demonstrated great interest in medicine and volunteered his time and effort, ultimately choosing to pursue a career in healthcare at an early age. In college, while working to develop the basic scientific foundation to enter medical school, he became involved in the fine arts. He was able to balance a rigorous basic science schedule with his studies in music, literature, painting and drawing. He was exceptional and received the Dean’s Award for academic achievement, leadership and community service from Third College at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biology with a minor in Literature.
He obtained his medical degree from the prestigious UCSD School of Medicine. He achieved several academic milestones and learned that he had a gift for working with people. He wished to pursue a career which would allow him to work closely with patients on a daily basis. Encouraged by those around him, he chose his training to reflect his definitive career goals. After medical school, he entered the surgery program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. In his first year, he was voted the Surgery Department’s Intern of the Year and demonstrated great ability in and outside the operating suite. During the next few years, he developed the dexterity which has given him a well-known reputation for being a skillful surgeon. He pursued training in plastic surgery at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He worked with several world-renowned plastic surgeons, whose encouragement fueled Dr. Guerra to develop and refine procedures that are considered state-of-the-art.
Experience
Prior to settling in Phoenix, Dr. Guerra was Clinical Instructor at the LSU Health Sciences Center, teaching medical students and residents the skills necessary to become good physicians and surgeons. After some years, he chose to pursue private practice and formed the Aesthetic Surgical Associates (ASA). Dr. Guerra served as Vice-President for ASA, whose clinics are located in Metairie, Louisiana and at the world-renowned McCollough Institute for Appearance and Health, Gulf Shores, Alabama. Dr. Guerra’s field of expertise includes facial rejuvenation, breast and body contouring surgery, especially, liposuction, liposculpture, LipoSelection™ and fat transfer. He is in the process of obtaining trademarks on several procedures and surgical instruments that he has developed or refined during his career. In his five years of practice, Dr. Guerra has seen and operated upon patients from all over the United States. He has also drawn patients from as far away as Europe and Latin America. At the end of 2005, Dr. Guerra chose to relocate to Phoenix to be closer to his family. He has established the AB Guerra Plastic Surgery Clinic, which has 3 locations including Phoenix, Scottsdale and Anthem. He vows to continue to provide the same 5-star service which made him very successful in his previous practices.
Qualifications
Dr. Guerra is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was truly honored when selected by Castle Connolly in the publication, America's Cosmetic Doctors & Dentists and Marquis Publisher’s Who’s Who in America® in 2005-2006. He has published extensively, in national and international journals, on cosmetic eyelid rejuvenation, cosmetic facial, breast and minimally invasive cosmetic surgery. He also has written 4 chapters on breast and body surgery. His first book, Cosmetic Surgery: A Consumer’s Guide to Aesthetic Plastic Surgery was published in the spring of 2005. He has received multiple honors and salutations during his training and throughout his career, including the Physician’s Recognition Award with Commendation from the American Medical Association in July 2005. He regularly lectures at regional plastic surgery meetings and one of his scientific publications received the James Barrett Brown Award from the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.

Jennifer had always been troubled by her weight. Since she could remember, she had been considered to be “chubby”, but since high school she had put on and extra 150 pounds! One day, at age 22, she decided to do something about this. She joined a gym and began to follow a healthy, but strict diet. Soon she began to shed the pounds. I met her about 6 months before the date of her surgical procedure. She was interested in improving the appearance of the tummy and thighs.
