An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient? When a patient looks at their new smile and cries with happiness and gets out of the chair and hugs me... it doesn't get any better than that.
When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to become a surgeon? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal? I won a state science fair project in high school and my project was improving the properties of dental stone. Sounds kind of geeky now. My uncle was a dentist and was pretty set upon becoming a dentist from an early age.
Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure? A perfect outcome is to give my patient EXACTLY what they want. Sometimes I don't necessarily agree with a patients desired color or tooth shape, but I always give my best advice and go with what they want.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why? I would like to do more Invisalign cases. I see soo many teens with traditional brackets and wires and I know that many of these cases could be done with Invisalign. There is no comparison between the two. Invisalign is more hygienic, nearly invisible, and often faster for the right cases.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do? I don't know where I would want to retire, but I would want to continue to practice dentistry. I would miss the art and science of my hobby that happens to be my carrier as well.
