This patient came in for a routine cleaning and checkup. She wanted lighter colored teeth. I suggested that we lighten the teeth and then correct the problems with the two front teeth with porcelain laminates,matching the color of the laminates to the newly lightened surrounding teeth.

This retired woman came to us because her direct bonding near the gum line had fallen off. We suggested porcelain laminates. She felt that she would be unable to tolerate anything artificial covering her teeth. We did a chair side mock up of what she would look like without touching the teeth. She loved it and the rest is history.

Sometimes, porcelain laminates are not possible due to tooth position or inadequate remaining tooth structure. Bonded all ceramic crowns are a very aesthetic alternative.
