Dr. Neal Smith has practiced dentistry since 1984. Dr. Smith graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and then the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After receiving his degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, he returned to Bridgman and joined his father Dale who began the practice in 1955.
Community involvement is very important to Dr. Smith. He has been involved with numerous groups, and served on governing boards such as Storyline Church, Christian Medical and Dental Associations, Optimist Club, SeaBee Swim Club and local schools.
Professionally Dr. Smith is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Lakeland Valley Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and The Crown Council as well as teaching internationally. Under his guidance, Bridgman Family Dental Care has received national recognition for both its professional team and advanced facilities.
Public service has been very important as Dr. Smith has served on mission trips in the slums of Mexico, prisons in Zambia, and set up Christian dental clinics in Russia. He also continues to consult with those who desire to start up clinics in the former soviet republics and eastern block countries.
His goal is to serve others by informing them of the best treatment options available and staying on the cutting edge to provide that care. Dr. Smith, the originator of Nap Dentistry, especially appreciates working with the fearful, as he has seen the crippling effect fear of the dentist can have on peoples' health and well being. |
