Dr. Fred C. Wong was born in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in a dental family. His father Dr. Francis Wong was a great general dentist since 1960, and it was only natural that Dr. Fred Wong would follow in his father’s footsteps. After he graduated from South Hills High School in Covina, California he continued his education at U.C.L.A. and gained a Bachelor Degree in Psychobiology. He furthered his education at cross town rival U.S.C. receiving a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1988.
During his time in school he received various awards including: an academic scholarship to U.C.L.A, The Prestigious Floyd Hogeboom Award given for outstanding achievement in pediatric dentistry for the Class of 1988 and the Dental Ambassador Award for 3 years of voluntary service for the U.S.C. Mobile Clinic, which traveled to various underprivileged areas in Southern California and Mexico.
Dr. Fred’s commitment to service was represented early on by being one of the founding fathers of Lambda Phi Epsilon which is a service orientated national fraternity. He was a past Board Advisor for Bryman/Corinthian Colleges for many years and is currently a Mount San Antonio College Health Fair Representative for Dentistry since the late 1990’s. He frequently volunteers for the Hacienda-La Puente Children’s Dental Clinic also serving since the early 1990’s. It should also be noted that Dr. Wong is active in the City of Covina International Rotary.
Dr. Fred is a strong proponent of continuing education which is evident by his many Post Graduate Certifications such as his certification by the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He became interested in laser dentistry in 1993 and used the Nd:Yag, Argon, and CO2 Laser Systems. He also received a fellowship by the International Congress of Oral Implantologist, Certification in the California Implant Institute, and Certification by the Dental Organization Congress of Oral Sedation.
Dr. Fred’s core belief is “consistency and excellent services rendered generously, with the belief that treating our staff and patients like they were in our home, makes the difference.”
