An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
Providing a smile makeover changes how a person views themselves and can be a life-changing experience. The best reward is seeing someone ecstatic with their new smile!
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
Smile Train helps underpriveledged kids in developing countries get cleft lip and palate repair surgeries that they would otherwise not be able to obtain.
What does living in the Turlock community mean to you?
I grew up in Modesto, and my wife here in Turlock. So this is home for both of us.
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
I love improving people's lives while working with my hands.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
Wow! Tough question since I have so many interests. I really love being a cosmetic and restorative dentist. Some things I've thought about are stained glass artist, nature photographer, building and restoring vintage cars, or landscape design. I guess I'll never get bored!
When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to become a surgeon? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal?
I'm a second generation dentist, so I grew up around the whole dental office experience. It was always intriguing. But what really motivated me was seeing my orthodontist Dr. Fleming do all that intricate work to straighten my teeth and give me a new smile.
