Educational Background
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, where he was a Magna Cum Laude graduate, and earned his medical degree at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Following an internship at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, he received his specialty training in ophthalmology at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Dr. Izzo is Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He specializes in cataract and intra-ocular lens implant surgery, and was one of the first to perform small incision, no stitch cataract surgery in Berks County.

What is your charity organization of choice and why?
I enjoy involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. My three sons are all Scouts and have benefitted from their years of scouting which has been character-building for them. They have learned self-reliance and many positive values that will serve them into the future. It is a thrill to see them and other boys mature as they advance through the program.
