Dr. John Rieser became interested in refractive surgery 18 years ago, when radial keratotomy (RK) was just being introduced to this country and was still an investigational procedure. He led the community study at Metropolitan Hospital on RK because of his desire to be a part of the scientific investigation into the new technique. When the excimer laser became available in 1995, Dr. Rieser joined the InView team of Attending Surgeons and furthered his experience in refractive surgery. "The excimer laser has added a degree of accuracy to refractive surgery that previously had not been possible," Dr. Rieser said. "It is extremely rewarding to see patients who have been completely dependent on glasses, be able to drive without glasses as soon as the day after surgery." |
