Andrea Talbot, RD

Program Coordinator/Dietitian

Andrea received her BS in Nutrition and Food Science with an emphasis in Dietetics in 2004 from Utah State University. She took on the role of program coordinator in January of 2007 and enjoys meeting patients and helping guide them through the process from informational session to surgery and beyond.

Amber Baker, RN, BSN, CBN

Clinical Coordinator

Amber received her BS in Exercise and Sport Science in 1997 and her BS in Nursing in 2000 both from the University of Utah. She has written articles for “Bariatrics Today” and “Obesity Help” regarding follow-up care after surgery. She recently sat for and passed the Certified Bariatric Nurse exam through ASMBS.

Amber is very dedicated to the success of the patients here at the Surgical Weight Loss Center of Utah. She is committed to providing a high level of care for patients of our hospital through regular in-services about bariatric surgery and patient sensitivity to hospital and nursing staff.

Brooke Baker, BS

Exercise Physiologist

Brooke received her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah. She became part of the Bariatric Team because she felt her exercise physiology education and experience would help this population of patients strive to meet and succeed at their personal goals for weight loss and lifelong health.

Our program is the only one in Utah that has a dedicated exercise physiologist just for bariatric patients. Brooke guides patients through pre and post operative exercise to help provide for the best surgical and weight loss outcomes. Patients have access to meet with Brooke at any time before or after surgery.

Dr. Tanya Colledge, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Colledge received her doctorate in psychology (PsyD) in 2001 from Pepperdine University in California. She has worked in health psychology for approximately six years and has worked specifically with bariatric surgery patients for the past three years.

Dr. Colledge is committed to making sure that patients are fully aware of any issues they have related to their eating and how to better cope with and make positive behavioral changes that will help them be more successful with surgery.

Jill Halversen

Surgery Coordinator

Jill has worked with the bariatric population for 6+ years. In her roll, she has enjoyed sharing the excitement patients experience when approved for surgery. She began working with the Surgical Weight Loss Center of Utah in 2007 and is now an integral part of the bariatric team. She is committed to helping bariatric patients through the process of qualifying for weight loss surgery through the insurance and scheduling process.

Our surgery coordinator will guide you through the steps of meeting your insurance criteria requirements; from the Informational Seminar, to insurance approval, to scheduling your surgery. You will also meet with her to discuss what requirements must be met to qualify as a candidate for surgery, and to answer any questions you may have.
