Dr. John Feng is one of the most experienced surgeons with a compassionate, caring and comprehensive weightloss program with long-term follow up. He is a board certified surgeon by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Feng underwent specialty training with a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He uses the latest technique of the restrictive vertical sleeve gastrectomy, which may replace the gastric bypass in the long term. The vertical gastrectomy, also known as the sleeve gastrectomy, appears to allow for better results, outcomes and may be safer with fewer short-term and long-term complications. Dr. Feng specializes in the Lap-Band System Procedure and the Realize Band adjustable gastric band surgery, in addition to the laparoscopic duodenal switch. His extensive experience with the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass has allowed his patients to recover quicker with less discomfort. He specializes in performing all his surgeries laparoscopically, allowing for smaller scars, less pain and quicker recovery.
Dr. Feng established Crystal Springs Surgical Associates in November 2006 after four years with Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco. He has joined his colleagues in Redwood City in a larger, multispecialty group with its headquarters in Palo Alto, California at the Palo Alto Medical Foundatio Medical Group, which accepts many insurance plans. Dr. Feng’s specialty interests include Laparoscopic Surgery for Morbid Obesity. He also has expertise in a variety of Advanced Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery for the treatment of many diseases of different organ systems (acid reflux, hiatal hernia, achalasia, tumors, ulcers, feeding tubes, gastroparesis, bleeding, adhesions, colon, solid organ, gallbladder disorders).
