Dr. Paul Cirangle is a pioneer and thought leader in the field of Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He has been invited to speak and present his work both in the United States and Internationally.
His areas of expertise include Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery (surgery for the treatment of obesity), Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery (surgery of the esophagus, stomach, colon and intestine), Laparoscopic Solid Organ Surgery (surgery of the pancreas, liver, spleen, and adrenal gland), Laparoscopic Biliary Surgery (surgery of the gallbladder and bile ducts), Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Spine Exposure for Spine Fusion/Disc Removal.
Dr. Cirangle has authored numerous original articles and book chapters on these topics. He is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Society for Bariatric Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), International College of Surgeons (ICS) and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). He is also a member of Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and serves as Chairman of the Public Information Committee for that society.
Dr. Cirangle holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. He has the privilege of practicing in Hawaii as well as in the Bay Area. He is currently the Medical Director of the Surgical Weight Loss Center of Hawaii and The Minimally Invasive Surgery Center of Hawaii and the Pacific.
