| Jacqueline D. Griffiths M.D. earned her undergraduate degree at Yale and her medical degree from the University of Michigan. Her Ophthalmology residency was completed at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Griffiths is Board Certified and began performing laser vision correction practically from its inception in this country. She has performed thousands of cases and participated with the CRS-USA LASIK trials to get the LASIK procedure approved by the FDA.
Dr. Griffiths has been in private practice since 1994. She started her own practice and laser center, NewView Laser Eye, Inc. in 1999 where she serves as the Medical Director. NewViews Mission is to provide Excellence in Ophthalmologic services by giving personalized attention to every patient. Most recently, she was voted “Top Ophthalmologist” by Washingtonian Magazine and Health & Beauty Magazine.
NewView’s refractive services include CustomVue EpiLase™ and LASIK, NearVision™ CKSM, and Multi-Focal IOLs. NewView also offers comprehensive ophthalmic services including annual eye exams, no-stitch cataract surgery, pterygium removal, chalazion removal, contact lenses, glaucoma and diabetic screening exams, and anti-aging services including Contour Thread Lift®, BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Radiesse™, Juvederm™, and Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
Dr. Griffiths served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Reston Ambulatory Surgical Center in Reston, VA as well as Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Washington National Eye Center and other professional organizations.
