Dr. Gilbert’s interest in plastic surgery began as a medical student during a trauma rotation. This exposure evolved into a deep respect for patients and their surgical challenges. An early preceptorship in genitourinary reconstruction and a fellowship in hand, surgery helped to focus his interest in these two reconstructive areas. Over his plastic surgery career, Dr. Gilbert has maintained an abiding interest in cosmetic surgery, and more recently, in body scanner technology.
"I was born to plastic surgery. All surgical challenges have a cosmetic side and patient participation is essential. New cosmetic techniques are exciting and continue to advance the specialty, but patient service and satisfaction are my number one goals. My goal is to do what is best for my patients and give my time for their needs. This is why I love my work."
