What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
Plastic Surgery is all about changing or restoring the shape of the human body. After surgery, the patient can often relax; and without knowing why, society often reacts to the 'new' individual differently. This process of transformation fascinates me. It's a great thrill to create natural results that change people's lives.
When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to enter the health & medical field? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal?
I decided to be a surgeon at age 5 and have never wanted anything else! I continue to be fascinated by human form and the process that allows safe and effective change of shape.
Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure?
It's a great thrill to have a patient tell me after surgery that they can now relax, that they no longer think about their bodies, and that no one has figured out that anything was done. That's when I know I've done my job.
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
The largest portion of my practice is body contouring -- changing the genetically predetermined shape of people. I use a three-dimensional approach to handle all effected regions to ensure natural proportionate results.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
I LOVE what I do! It will be a sad day when I step away from my practice, but know that I'll focus more 2-dimensionally on the body by continuing my creative photographic explorations.
