- American Dental Association
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
Its always very rewarding to change someones appearance for the better. It can be very dramatic and emotional for some patients. The most reward I get is having patients trust me for their dental health and their family members year after year. I have so many patients that have been with me since I started in private practice in 1993.
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
I have always been involved with environmental causes. I have worked with the Coastal Conservation Association for many years and served as Dade County chapter president for several years. I also am a active member in several other environmental groups. I feel that climate change will be a very serious concern for many years to come.
What does living in the North Miami Beach community mean to you?
Doing what I can to enhance the quality of life for others.
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
The chance to be extremely exacting in what I do. Prosthodontics is very detailed work.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
a ranger at a national park.
When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to enter the health & medical field? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal?
I never desired to be a surgeon but I decided to be a dentist at around 10 or 11. I was already spending time in my dads office during the summer, so I quickly became familiar with dentistry.
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
I enjoy working with dental implants a great deal. I also enjoy the patients who desire to make cosmetic changes.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why?
I will always desire to work with more implants. My original intention for specializing in Prosthodontics was to be more involved with implant dentistry.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
I will probably always be involved in dentistry in some fashion, whether that means teaching or helping patients who are less fortunate. So full retirement is something I dont think about. If my hands can no longer perform the way I want then I will likely be more involved in teaching. The experiences I have had teaching have been very rewarding for me.
