A Quality Approach
During a year-long process, the entire clinical, laboratory and administrative staff of Boston IVF diligently examined every process, procedure, document and record that affects how we provide patient care. We asked ourselves the tough questions necessary to carefully review our systems and to project where we wanted to be in the future. We developed quality standards and objectives to not just improve what we do, but to set the bar for quality care in reproductive medicine. The work, dedication and creativity that we poured into this campaign have earned us the unique distinction of becoming the first fertility provider in North America to become certified to ISO 9001:2000 standards.
You may have heard the term "ISO" and wondered what it means. Perhaps, you’ve seen a banner outside a building proudly proclaiming ISO certification. So how does ISO certification connect to your quest to resolve infertility and create a family? The key component of the ISO quality standards and their primary focus is patient (customer) satisfaction.
The underlying theory is that the higher the quality of an organization, the more satisfied the patients will be. The ISO standard addresses this in two ways.
The ISO 9001:2000 standard provides a set of guidelines to achieve quality that have been successfully utilized by tens of thousands of organizations throughout the world.
