Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
We are very grateful that our patients share their lives with us. The most rewarding case I remember was the cutest 4 y/o girl who got burned with a hot bowl of soup and lost the hair on top of her head. After 3 surgeries you can barely see the scar. Helping kids sometimes seems to be more rewarding to me than to them.
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
I am a skeptic by nature and I lived in Missouri (The Show Me State) for a number of years. With recent TV exposures of charity organizations that pocket donors funds and only 10%-15% goes to actual beneficiaries, it is not surprising that most of us are. However, I strongly support Operation Smile and Breast Cancer Foundation.
What does living in the East Brunswick community mean to you?
We are very grateful to the Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, and Lake Tahoe communities for their support. Now with the opening of a new office in Reno we are happy to offer our plastic surgery expert services to the Reno and Sparks communities as well. Coming from the opposite coast, it is remarkable how friendly and supporting the community has been to our practice and our family.
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
I have always enjoyed art and science. Plastic surgery is the ultimate combination of being able to appreciate the beauty of the human body with the latest plastic surgery technology. At the same time, we appreciate the fact that our patients entrust us with their most valuable commodity - their body. We are trying to combine the desires of our patients with our vision of possible improvement. To combine those two is the true art of plastic surgery.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure?
The perfect outcome is a happy patient. There is nothing more rewarding then talking to the patient after the surgery and seeing this special light in their eyes. Sometimes we realize that the person that comes for a follow up is not the same one that came in for the initial appointment. Happy, confident, beautiful people are the perfect outcome of plastic surgery.
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
50 minute lift is my favorite procedure to perform. It is a very elegant procedure from a technical stand point and at the same time it produces remarkable results. That is why it is a favorite of mine.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why?
50 minute lift for the same reason.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
Retire? I don't think so. Well, may be some day. I truly enjoy the type of work that I do. I think that if physically I am able to, I will do it forever. In regards to moving, great weather, Lake Tahoe, wonderful people, friendly business envronment - why would I move?
