FEBRUARY 2014 – Allentown, Pennsylvania – Reproductive Medicine Associates of Pennsylvania (RMAPA) is pleased to announce it ranks highest in the state and fifth highest nationwide in successful in vitro fertilization procedures. According to a report released on Monday, February 17 by the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), RMAPA has a 75% (21/28) success rate for in vitro embryo transfers resulting in a live birth for women under 35. The national average for this age group is 47.1%.*
The 2012 rate is reported by SART, the primary organization of professionals dedicated to the practice of Assisted Reproductive Technologies in the United States. RMAPA's full Clinic Summary Report can be viewed at www.sart.org.
RMAPA has consistently ranked highest in Pennsylvania, with success rates well above the national average, since its inception in 2008 by Dr. Wendy J. Schillings, Dr. Paul A. Bergh, Dr. Richard T. Scott and Dr. Michael R. Drews, RMAPA credits its increase in successful pregnancies to participation in research studies for advancement in the areas of blastocyst embryo transfer, comprehensive chromosomal screening (CCS), trophectoderm biopsy of embryos for genetic testing, and single embryo transfer.
“Innovations, like CCS, allow us the opportunity to test embryos prior to transfer, which not only better ensures the health of the embryo, but also increases the chance of successful pregnancy and delivery,” explains Dr. Wendy J. Schillings.
