Teacher: I was Fired for Getting IVF Treatments

An Indiana Catholic school teacher says she was fired because she got fertility treatments considered against church teachings.

Emily Herx, who worked in Fort Wayne at St. Vincent de Paul School, filed a lawsuit against the school this week, claiming the school's pastor found out about her fertility treatments and called her a "grave, immoral sinner", then canned her.

Herx says she underwent in vitro fertilization treatment in March 2010, told her supervisor, and the school's principal. When she requested time off for a second treatment, she was dismissed.
