Bollywood star and model Priyanka Chopra says that while she doesn’t feel the need to go under the knife, she wouldn’t be against it “if it helps build self esteem”. The actress says that she loves the way she looks and hasn’t resorted to plastic surgery yet. Fans and critics disagree, and many have suggested that Chopra has actually had multiple procedures – including a nose job and lip augmentation procedures – to achieve her westernized appearance.
Chopra says that she has had received plenty of criticism about her appearance because she’s not a conventional-looking actress. Still, she’s happy with her looks and states, “I have never felt the need for any enhancement surgery. What I have is what I have been blessed with. People had a lot of issues about the fact that I was dusky and not conventional-looking actress. But I still got the opportunities I did.”
For Chopra, success in the film industry and within her profession is what helps her feel confident about herself, and her looks. She doesn’t feel the need to enhance her looks to improve her own self-esteem, and says she doesn’t judge other people for their decision to go under the knife.
While she admits that she’s not against plastic surgery, she does think that it can become an obsession that can turn into a bigger problem. “Cosmetic surgery only becomes wrong when it becomes a disease”, she says.
