Most 14-year-old girls are concerned about their looks and many are already wearing braces, getting their first bra, and playing with new hairstyles. Mothers of young teens may even let their daughters try makeup and push the envelope with their choice of clothing. But what about getting a boob job? 14-year-old Britney Marshall from Nottinghamshire grew up in a family where breast implants were the norm, and according to her mother, Britney “is going through a funny phase at the moment and saying she doesn’t want to get her boobs done.”
The teenager reportedly doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s and sister’s footsteps. Her mother and her four sisters “own” £50,000 worth (just over $77,000) of fake breasts, according to The Huffington Post.
Demand for breast implants in the United Kingdom is still strong, and breast augmentation continues to be among the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the United States. In the U.S., teens must be at least 18 years old to get breast implants or have their parents’ consent.
For now, Britney appears to appreciate her natural body and doesn’t want the fake look her mother says she loves so much. Still, Britney’s mother is encouraging her daughter to get a boob job when she’s a little older.
