Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kristin Cavallari are just a few celebs that are famous for flaunting their legs in sky-high heels. Women who want to achieve that long-legged look can now sport super-high heels with the help of a little plastic surgery. According to the latest number from the Transform Cosmetic Surgery group, the number of women getting plastic surgery just on their feet has doubledsince last year.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Shapiro says that the procedure is performed to reduce the pressure on the top part of the foot near the toes. The procedure involves injecting collagen into the foot to create an extra layer of padding. Collagen injections can create the most natural look and are also a minimally-invasive treatment. The plastic surgeon might also reshape the foot so it is narrower in the toe area. Injectable fillers can also be used to smooth out bony feet and create a more youthful-looking foot.
For many, collagen injections help to reduce the excruciating pain from wearing sky-high heels for long periods of time.
Dr. Michael Zacharia was featured on “Today Tonight” last year to talk about the growing trend of feet surgery for high heel addicts. Check out the video below:
