Real Housewives Star Says It’s Okay for Celebs to Blab About Plastic Surgery

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives New York is part of a new series with OK! Magazine to answer questions in a segment, “What Would the Countess Do?”. The recent hot topic is about celebrity plastic surgery and dealing with critics about one’s appearance. The Countess says that it really is a celeb’s choice to discuss whether they have had plastic surgery or not, and that “if it takes a nip and tuck” to have a positive self-image then it should be okay.

If you’ve been thinking about getting plastic surgery, set up a consultation with a plastic surgeon in your area to find out if you are a good candidate for your procedure. You can also take a look at these plastic surgery before and after photos to see examples of successful outcomes with different plastic surgery procedures.

The Countess tells OK! Magazine, that “the only issue I have with celebs sharing their prior cosmetic procedures with the public is that women might think that without aesthetic intervention, they won’t look good. Some of the most beautiful women in the world have had nothing done to alter their appearance. There’s a reason why these procedures are called “beauty secrets”!”

The Countess also addresses the issue of critics who point out a celebrity’s flaws or pick on them when they have had plastic surgery. She says that, “a bit of humility goes a long way towards getting naysayers back on my side.”

While celebrities deal with the media, fans and critics, the average person may have to deal with criticism from their social groups or peers. Some people simply choose not to disclose whether they have had any work done, while others feel that cosmetic surgery is something to share within their social circles. Young moms, baby boomers and those who want to stop the clock often turn to procedures such as Botox injections to get rid of wrinkles, liposuction to eliminate unwanted body fat, breast implants to achieve a more youthful silhouette and facelift surgery to take decades off the appearance. However, not everyone is comfortable with sharing the fact that they have gone under the knife to improve their appearance.
