In spite of tighter personal budgets and busy schedules, many men and women are still heading to the cosmetic surgeon’s office for a nip and tuck – as long as it’s done over the lunch hour. According to a recent story by The 33 TV channel in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, demand for “drive-thru” cosmetic procedures is still strong.
Dallas cosmetic surgeon Dr. Bill Johnson states, “This is the new wave…patients want downtime like they want cellulite. They’re not interested in an unnecessary hospital bill. The ability to do it (cosmetic procedures) in the office makes it much less expensive because we don’t have to have a surgery center charge. You don’t have the extra expenses when they’re safe to do in the office.”
Some of today’s most popular “drive-thru” procedures include non-invasive liposuction that can be performed in under an hour, cellulite treatments that help reduce the appearance of unsightly bulges, and skin tightening procedures that help shape and contour the skin tissues. Procedures that can be performed under local anesthesia allow the patient to return to regular activities within hours of their procedure, and in some cases, they can undertake exercise or other physical activities within a few days.
Other options for “drive thru” procedures include facial skin tightening treatments, nonsurgical facelifts, and skin rejuvenation procedures that help to ward off the signs of aging. Microdermabrasion and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy are just two skin rejuvenation procedures that can help to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, and also improve the texture and tone of the skin – and all within an hour. In many cases, the side effects are mild redness and swelling which subside within a few hours.
Patients considering a quick fix procedure still need to undergo a formal consultation with a qualified physician before booking an appointment.
