While many Americans aren’t afraid to share which cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures they have recently had, a recent study in the United Kingdom suggests that many UK patients prefer to keep their surgery a secret.
The Harley Medical Group, the largest cosmetic surgery provider in the UK, has surveyed a thousand patients and found that about 85 percent of them did not share any information about their procedure with friends and associates until after recovery.
According to the survey results, approximately 19 percent of those surveyed also kept their surgeries a secret from family members. Many admitted that they would feel awkward after admitting to having plastic or cosmetic surgery.
The director of Harley Medical Group speculates that while many celebrities are fairly open about getting a makeover, many regular citizens are fairly shy about showing off their results. However, many do end up opening up about their procedure.
Current cosmetic and plastic surgery trends in the UK include an increase in demand for non-invasive liposuction, facial plastic surgery, and a continuing trend for breast implants. Some UK patients do travel overseas to other parts of Europe for more affordable options, and many head to the United States to take advantage of the latest treatment options and technologies.
The Harley Medical Group specializes in the latest cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, and is the leading organization in the United Kingdom to provide non-surgical cosmetic procedure such as microdermabrasion, skin peels, Botox treatments and laser hair removal.
The company has over 27 clinics in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and has been offering a wide range of treatments for over 26 years, treating over 450,000 patients. Patients can set up a local consultation in cities including Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Chester, Harley Street, Liverpool and Reading amongst others.
