Oxygen Network Premieres ‘Addicted to Beauty’ Dramedy on August 4

addicted to beautyThe Oxygen Network will premiere the highly-anticipated plastic surgery dramedy “Addicted to Beauty” on August 4, 2009. The show is set at Changes Plastic Surgery and Spa, medical spa in La Jolla, California, and tracks the lives of spa employees and some of the patients that visit the clinic. The show focuses on the workplace antics that take place behind the scenes of this popular medi-spa, and puts a humorous twist on the spa-goer’s obsession with looking beautiful and achieving their ideal image.

The cast features Dr. Gilbert Lee, a well-known plastic surgeon in California, Gary the receptionist, Ronnie the concierge, Natasha, the assistant, and Shannyn the spa manager. Dianne York-Goldman, the marketing expert and socialite in La Jolla gets most of the spotlight as the developer and promoter of this clinic. The dramedy focuses on the day-to-day issues that arise at this busy medical spa, and provides a humorous look at the world of those who are obsessed with looking younger.

“Addicted to Beauty” is the first plastic surgery show of its kind to be picked up by a major network, and the episodes are part of the new Tuesday night programming lineup on Oxygen. The show is executive produced by Mike Duffy, Greg Goldman and Chris Coelen of RDF Media USA, Inc., the same company that produced the series Wife Swap (ABC), Secret Millionaire (FOX) and How to Look Good Naked (Lifetime). Other producers on the team are Scott Dunlop of Dunlop Entertainment, and Mechelle Collins and Kevin Dill of Intuitive Entertainment.

The first of eight episodes will debut on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11 pm.EST, and then Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST beginning on August 11, 2009. More information about the cast and a preview of the season can be seen on the Oxygen website.
