Oxygen Prepares to Launch 'Addicted to Beauty' TV Show

oxygen_2008_logoFor those who are curious about the latest cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery procedures, 2009 is the year for yet another television show showcasing the latest quick fixes. "Addicted To Beauty" is a reality TV-inspired show that takes place in a full-service medspa.

The show is focused on the staff's perception of their clients and the latest beauty fixes available; the most popular picks at this spa include Botox, lip implants and the basic spray tan, but the show will highlight the hordes of women who head to this beauty destination to feed their addiction to looking younger.

“Obsession with beauty is addictive to watch and “Addicted to Beauty” gives our audience a vicarious glimpse into that fascinating world,” said Introcaso-Davis, Senior Vice President of Programming and Development for Oxygen. From RDF USA, “Addicted to Beauty” is executive produced by Chris Coelen, Greg Goldman, and Mike Duffy for RDF ("Secret Millionaire,” “Wife Swap”), Mechelle Collins and Kevin Dill (”Millionaire Matchmaker,” “Sunset Tan”) and Scott Dunlop ("Real Housewives of Orange County”). According to Reuters and Hollywood Reporter, Oxygen has ordered eight hourlong episodes of the show with hopes of capturing this growing market of eager viewers. The reality series is set to debut in 2009, and will be the second new series to be added to the network's revamped schedule for the year.

The show will be following other popular reality TV hits related to plastic and cosmetic surgery such as Nip Tuck, and Dr. 90210.

The participants in Addicted to Beauty are all women who are spending hundreds, even thousands of dollars to fuel their addiction to look and feel great; they will be sharing their stories and perspectives on what they do to get their 'fix', and viewers can learn more about the latest treatments from the brief segments that spotlights staff members at the spa during each episode.
