The American Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 31 through November 5 in Chicago, IL and this year's schedule of events will be covering several controversial procedures and innovative treatments on the horizon.
Over 6,000 medical professionals are expected to attend this year's conference, allowing leading plastic and cosmetic surgeons a chance to watch live demonstrations of new techniques, discuss problems or concerns that their patients may have experienced, and learn where and how to get trained on new procedures within their specialty. Each day's agenda is full of panel discussions, lectures held by leaders in the industry, and presentations of research papers with the latest published findings.
The ASPS conference is open to practicing physicians, physician assistants, board-certified plastic surgeons, aestheticians and other medical professionals and ASPS members each year. This year's event will feature several live demonstrations of the latest techniques with a focus on anti-aging procedures, body contouring and innovations in wrinkle treatments.
The latest trends in plastic surgery will be featured at the ASPS Investor Roundtable on November 3, and panels at the event will be addressing hot topics including perioral rejuvenation; fat injections for breast enhancement; and dermal filler techniques amongst others.
ASPS President Richard D'Amico explains that:
“Plastic Surgery 2008 will offer new research on a variety of topics including patient satisfaction and outcomes in breast surgery and facial rejuvenation, body contouring after massive weight loss, a review of stem cell data and its potential to improve fat transfer and survival, and more. We will also explore emerging, sometimes controversial, areas where further scientific evidence is needed such as fat injections for breast augmentation.
