Allergan, a health care company that specializes in anti aging treatments based on science, is conducting studies and trials on a compound that may stimulate eyelash growth.
Eyelash extensionsare just one way to enhance the eyelashes and create the appearance of thicker, longer lashes without makeup. However, the procedure is not perfect and may require ongoing maintenance for trimming the eyelashes and ensuring that the lashes grow in a natural pattern.
Allergan is turning to a compound called bimatoprost, a patented formula that is applied to the base of the eyelashes and stimulates rapid growth. Scott Whitcup, M.D., Allergan's Executive Vice President of Research and Development, explains that:
“Our exploration of bimatoprost as an eyelash growth enhancer reflects our continuing commitment to offer innovative medical aesthetic treatments that are science-based, with the clinically proven safety and efficacy that consumers have come to trust Allergan to provide.” (Source: medicalnewstoday.com)
If bimatoprost receives FDA approval, mascara and eyelash extensions could be a thing of the past.
