Education

Ayman Shahine, MD is among an elite group of aesthetic surgeons who have ranked continually among the best doctors in their profession in the United States. Few physicians attain such an unparalleled status, and it only comes after years of hard work and continuous training.

After receiving a Degree in Mathematics, Dr. Shahine attended the American University of Beirut where he received his Bachelors Degree in sciences and biology, attaining the Dean's Honors List on several occasions. He then attended the School of Medicine at the same university, and graduated in 1989 as a Doctor of Medicine.

Dr. Shahine's post-doctorate training includes a residency in the field of Internal Medicine, as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology, in which he is Diplomate American Board certified. Dr. Shahine then went on to receive additional training in laser surgery, endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, bio-identical hormone therapy, integrative medicine and aesthetic and cosmetic surgery.

In addition to being an accomplished clinician, Dr. Shahine is also a superb mentor and teacher. In 1996 he served as a clinical instructor at the NYU School of Medicine, and in 1998 he was Chief of the Section of Endoscopic and Vaginal surgery at the Catholic Medical Center of St. Mary's Hospital. In 1999 Dr. Shahine was voted the Physician/ Teacher of the Year by the residents and medical students at St. Mary's Hospital, and in 2005 he received an honorary proclamation from the Borough President of Brooklyn, New York for his excellent work and service to the community. In 2008, Dr. Shahine was one of only seven doctors in the continental United States of America to receive the prestigious Award of Excellence in Cosmetic Surgery Education from The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
