Q&A: Would a scar be left if I had a strawberry birthmark removed?

Ask A Doctor Question:

I have a strawberry birthmark above my breast, how much would it cost to have this removed? And would I be left with a scar, if so, how big would it be?

Thank you for your question.  Laser treatments are typically used to fade birthmarks.  Some may fade completely and others may still have some residual color.  Multiple treatments are necessary to achieve the best result.  The goal is to avoid a scar though there is always a small risk.  Costs can vary.  You may call us at the office for more specifics.

Thank you for your question.
Yes, vascular birthmarks can often be removed with laser. Exactly how many treatments that you might need and the exact cost of the procedure is best answered in person.
To know what is best for you, please see two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a complete evaluation.
I hope this helps.
