Q&A: What is the best treatment for psoriasis?

Ask A Doctor Question:

What is the best treatment for psoriasis

Dr. Bill Rice, DC, LAc, FACCN, DCBCN -

There is no magic bullet for psoriasis, unfortunately, for this auto-immune condition. But I start my patients with a 10-14 day detoxification program. That must start with eliminating all toxic foods and beverages from your diet. In this case it also includes foods that may trigger the immune system, such gluten (a protein found in wheat, rye and barley).
Acupuncture also helps to balance the energy and improve the immune system.

William W. Ehrlich, MD FAACS -

Both light therapies and systemic drugs are available.  A dermatologist with extensive experience in psoriasis treatment is your best bet.
Good luck.
