Is it safe to use Botox and Juvaderm, etc. in patients with Lupus?
It depends on how active your lupus is and what medication you are on. Lupus is ofter treated with Azithioprine which are strong immune suppressants which would increase the risk of infection. Also there is alway a slight risk of aggravating your lupus when even a bio-compatible product is administered. So Botox and Juvaderm can be used safely but there are some increased risks.
