Q&A: Can I have a huge amount of excess skin removed after 2 twin pregnancies?

Ask A Doctor Question:
Hi, I have 2 sets of natural, fraternal twins. First set are 28 months and the second are 8 months old. I have already lost all the baby weight from both pregnancies but I still have a large amount of saggy skin around my tummy. I have read that the likely hood of getting large amounts of skin to shrink is impossible without surgery. Is that true? Or what would be the best thing to do? I am 28 and feel like my body is that of a 70 year old and would love to my tight 25 year old body back!
Well, first of all, congratulations on your successful pregnancies and I can only imagine how much stretch your tummy went through! Without photos, however, it's hard to fully determine the extent of your skin stretch but, for the most part, most women in your situation benefit from skin reduction surgery. I do agree that a tummy tuck may very well be an appropriate procedure for you but I would need to evaluate you in person to make the final determination. You are more than welcome to visit my website and should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our office and speak with any one of our staff members. I do look forward to meeting you should you decide to schedule a consultation. I hope this helps and have a wonderful day.

You are right that the skin will not go back to where it was prior to the pregnancies and you are probably an excellent candidate for an abdominoplasty which should restore your youthful appearing abdomen
