A hollow needle is passed through the skin at predetermined areas. A barbed thread is then inserted into the skin through the needle, and the needle is removed. The threads are then positioned and anchored with the ends sutured beneath the surface. The end result is tighter skin and a younger looking face.
As with most procedures there are rare complications associated with a ThreadLift, including:
The actual threads are considered very safe and capable of remaining in the body for life. In the rare event of infection the threads can be removed without further complication.
There are a few other procedures similar to ThreadLifttm, such as a FeatherLift®, that utilize the same style barbed threads for facial rejuvenation. The differences between them are not drastic, and they are even sometimes referred to as the same procedure with interchangeable names (even though they are manufactured by different companies).
Remember, as with all procedures, finding a surgeon with a fair amount of experience performing a ThreadLifttm could increase your satisfaction with the results.
