The active substance in Dysport is botulinum neurotoxin type A complex, and the treatment works as a blocking agent to block compounds that assist with nerve function. The symptoms and side effects experienced by the test subjects were very similar in scope to those who have had Botox injections; anyone who is allergic to Botox or other botulinum toxin preparations is advised to refrain from having Dysport injections. This treatment is not intended for children, or for women who are pregnant.
