Common Questions & Answers about Liposuction Surgery (Lipoplasty)

"hi, i'm a 31 yr. old female and had liposuction twice on my abdomen, i'm 5'3 and 110 pd. 80%of my body fat seem to be in my stomach, my first lipo i wasn't satisfied because the moment i ate food i got fat bulges coming out on my sides and lower ab, so my doc. redid it, it seems to me that he took out pretty much all the fat out, but my waist is still fatty feeling, it seems like i have fat rolls, but i think that maybe it could be excess skin, when i tighten my abs it goes pretty flat but my skin feels and looks like an old lady's skin, kind of like "chicken skin" very loose but the rest of my body my skin is very tight, but the first time he did my lipo my skin was firm, do you think that maybe he took out too much fat?.. do you recommend a tummy tuck for this, i don't want to do lipo again, and if you do recommend a tummy tuck how is the scar situation for this and also what if i decide to get pregnant will that put me back to square one or worse with stretch marks, please help..thanks"

Pros and Cons of Custom Acoustic Liposuction

Some of the latest innovations in liposuction involve the use of ultrasound technology, infrared laser and water jets which give the plastic surgeon more control during the procedure, and in some cases, produce better results. Custom Acoustic Liposuction was recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an effective fat removal procedure, and uses low-frequency acoustic INFRASONIC vibrations. Here’s a close look at how this procedure works, and what the key benefits and drawbacks of Custom Acoustic Liposuction are:

How Custom Acoustic Liposuction Works

Custom Acoustic Liposuction is designed to break away the fatty deposits from the muscle tissues using an INFRASONIC vibration technology. The small, rapid vibrations help the doctor exercise more control over where the fat is removed from, and the system can be used to reduce fat in larger areas of the body including the hips, thighs, buttocks and stomach. The procedure has been performed thousands of times worldwide, and is also known as Nutational Infrasonic Liposuction, or NIL.

Custom Acoustic Liposuction is different from other methods of fat removal because the cannula used in the procedure is activated by air pressure, not heat, laser energy or ultrasound energy. The cannula rotates and vibrates steadily to remove fat without affecting non-fatty tissues. This means that there is less trauma to the surrounding tissues, and the doctor has more control over how the procedure is performed.

Key Benefits of Custom Acoustic Liposuction

Since the Custom Acoustic Liposuction procedure relies only on air pressure and promises little trauma to the skin and tissues, it can be performed in a shorter time than conventional procedures. Other key benefits of this fat removal procedure include:
  • No risk of burning
  • Faster recovery times than conventional procedures
  • Can be performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation
  • Promises smooth and precise body contouring
  • Less bruising and swelling than conventional procedures
  • Reduced risk of complications than laser, ultrasound and other liposuction techniques
  • Proven system for reducing high-volume areas

Drawbacks of Custom Acoustic Liposuction

While Custom Acoustic Liposuction offers a number of benefits, there are still some risks involved with this procedure. As with all liposuction techniques, there is a risk of bleeding, bruising and excessive pain for days and weeks after the procedure. In some cases, the procedure needs to be performed again to ensure the best results, and this can cause additional trauma to the skin and pain to the patient. Other risks of liposuction include poor recovery of skin tissues, permanent scars and continued tenderness or numbness in the treated area.

Custom Acoustic Liposuction is among the newer liposuction techniques, and so far, has shown promising results and outcomes. It is proven to be effective and efficient to use, and does not have any specific complications. Plus, the fat removed is transplantable so it can be used to perform other types of plastic surgery procedures.
