Best Procedures for Tight and Toned Arms

The upper arms can begin to sag with age, and men and women who have not developed bicep and tricep muscles often notice loose skin as early as their 30s. However, there are several ways to tighten up the upper arm area. When upper body strength training isn’t giving you the results you want, consider any of these procedures that can help to sculpt and tone up your arms:

Thermage Skin Tightening Treatments

Flabby arms can be treated without surgery, and Thermage is one skin tightening procedure that has proven to be effective at tightening and toning up the arms.  The treatment involves applying radiofrequency waves directly into the skin’s surface; a series of treatments may be required, but the result is a significant tightening of the skin. The radiofrequency waves help to trigger collagen production and leave the outer layers more firm.   Results can last for several years, and the non-invasive treatment can be used in the upper arms to effectively reduce the appearance of ‘bat wings.’

Bicep or Tricep Implants

Bicep implants may be a valuable choice for those who want more muscular definition in their upper arm areas. The implants are made out of silicone, and are inserted into a small pocket that is made after cutting directly along the upper arm area. The surgeon may insert either a bicep or tricep implant, or both; after the incisions heal, the patient can move their arms comfortably and enjoy a more sculpted and toned look. However, the scar that results from the incision site can be fairly noticeable.

ReFirme

ReFirme has become a popular procedure for getting rid of facial wrinkles, but can also be used on other parts of the body for an ‘instant lift.’ The treatment involves applying a combination of bipolar electric currents and optical light energy directly into the skin’s surface. The pain-free procedure is designed to affect the dermal tissue, helping to break down the tissues to trigger collagen production. As the body begins to produce more collagen, the skin appears tighter and assumes a smoother, more elastic appearance.   ReFirme may be particularly effective for getting rid of visible stretch marks and tightening up loose skin in the underarm area.

Liposuction

Liposuction continues to be the most effective way to get rid of excess body fat, and mini-liposuction can be administered to reach the difficult areas under the triceps. Liposuction breaks down fatty tissue so that it can be suctioned out of the body. However, patients may notice loose and flabby skin in the area where the fat was stored, and a skin tightening procedure may be necessary to see results. Still, many doctors use body sculpting techniques as part of the liposuction procedure; in these cases, the doctor would manipulate and restructure the surrounding skin tissues and remove excess skin so that the result was a smoother and more toned appearance.
