LocateADoc.com pays for Nashville, TN father's surgery
I went ahead and registered and thought to my self:'What me win! Yeah right!
Winning LocateADoc.com's November $2k contest, Anthony Edwards, a firefighter from Nashville, Tennessee thought entering the contest was a long shot, but the father of three wanted a chance to rid his life of the inconvenience of wearing glasses.
"I was close to going ahead and financing the surgery when I decided to do more research on the procedure and came across the website LocateADoc.com, and decided to register for the $2000 dollar prize that they award each month," Anthony said. "To make a long story short, I went ahead and registered and thought to my self: 'What me win! Yeah right!' Well I won and am very excited about having the surgery. I almost didn't read the email informing me that I had won because I didn't know who the email was from and was glad that I did open and read it."
Anthony selected Dr. Robert Selkin with the Experts on LASIK clinic in Nashville,TN to perform his surgery.
"It will be so wonderful to wake up in the morning and see my clock without having to reach for my glasses," Anthony said before the day of the surgery. "And I am very confident that everything will be done right and my vision will be 20/20 or better because you have to have faith in the Lord that every thing will be alright."
Dr. Selkin performed a successful surgery for a satisfied LASIK patient on April 5, 2001. Anthony returned home to his wife and children and resumed his firefighting duties at the Metro Fire Department with 20/20 vision, and a sincere gratitude to LocateADoc.com for making his dream a reality.
"I first would like to thank LocateADoc.com for having the contest that offers a chance for those individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford the cost of laser surgery without going into debt or financing for a procedure that is still considered cosmetic. Lasik eye surgery is something I have been considering having done for the past five years. The prices have always been what has kept me from having it done."
