You aren't stuck with that tattoo you got on the spur-of-the-moment. Old methods of tattoo removal created a great deal of scarring, but the lasers used today are not only more gentle, but also more effective.
How it's done
A beam of light from the laser is fired in rapid bursts onto the tattoo and the pigment heats, erupting from the skin. You will need 6 to 8 treatments.
Recovery
7 to 10 days.
Complications
Certain inks can react to the laser creating a dark, untreatable chemical. Burning sensations can also be felt during treatment. Although minor scarring can occur it will be less noticeable than the original tattoo.
Cost
$200 to $2,000 per treatment.
