Common Questions & Answers about Laser Hair Removal

"I have about a dozen scars on my shins due to chemical burns (from Nair Hair removal cream) and electrical burns due to bad electrolysis. All of the scars are small (about pea sized) and shallow rather than raised, and are very discolored--brownish purple while I am very fair skinned. I've tried silicone sheets to reduce the scarring, but it hasn't worked at all. I REALLY want to get rid of the discoloration, and would love to get rid of the shallowness, also, but it's the discoloration that bothers me more. What type of surgery (dermabrasion?) could help with with these scars, and what's a rough estimate of the cost? I hope you can help me. I can't go another summer in pants every day, but I can't bear to wear shorts with all of these ugly scars. Thanks for any help you can give me. Carla"

Ready for the Beach? Cosmetic Enhancements for the Season

With summer season right around the corner, are you really ready for the beach?

If you’re not ready to sport that swimsuit because of unsightly cellulite, extra hair or sagging skin, there are several ways to treat the problem before temperatures start to climb.

Whether you need a quick fat removal procedure or just want to remove unwanted hair, consider these cosmetic enhancements before hitting the beach this season:

Be Hair-Free with Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal treatments can effectively remove unwanted hair from the legs, arms, back and bikini area to create a smooth and attractive appearance.  A series of laser hair removal treatments can get you the long-term results you need, and many cosmetic surgeons offer packages to help you save on the cost.  Skipping the nicks, cuts and scrapes from shaving and waxing may help you get through summer season with ease; laser hair removal is also a great way to prep your skin for that glowing tan ahead.

Get Rid of Fat and Cellulite with Liposuction

Liposuction continues to be one of the most sought-after procedures for both men and women according to the American Society of Plastic Surgery Professionals, accounting for over 302,000 surgical cosmetic procedures in 2007 and earning the number two spot for top five procedures for the same year (Source: PlasticSurgery.org). Liposuction can remove extra fat from the abdomen, inner thighs, buttocks, or any other area that has accumulated stubborn fatty deposits.  Laser liposuction is one of the latest options for fat removal, allowing for a more precise and targeted treatment.

Rejuvenate the Skin with Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a powerful facial that can remove the top layer of the skin and remove scars, age spots and other signs of skin pigmentation.  Microdermabrasion treatments can also help boost collagen production which results in tighter, firmer and more toned skin. If your face needs a ‘lift’ after the winter and Spring season, a series of microdermabrasion treatments could help you achieve a more youthful and attractive look – right in time for summer.

Improve Your Silhouette with Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation continues to be the top procedure in surgical cosmetic procedures, and can help you achieve your ideal silhouette. If you’ve been too self-conscious to wear a bathing suit, breast enhancement may help you improve your figure and boost your confidence. Breast augmentation procedures have become increasingly safer over the past decade, and there are several options available – implants, injectable fillers and fat transfer are just a few alternatives to the classic silicone implant.

Get Rid of Spider Veins with Sclerotherapy

If unsightly spider veins are holding you back from too-short shorts, sclerotherapy, or spider vein removal treatments, can help you achieve smooth and attractive legs. Sclerotherapy is an injection-based therapy that helps treat varicose and spider veins with a series of treatments.  You can expect results within 3 – 6 weeks, which means your legs will be ready for the beach in no time.

Even when you’ve been watching your diet and finding balance with your healthy lifestyle, a few cosmetic enhancements can help your looks go from ‘good’ to ‘great’. From liposuction to microdermabrasion, you can improve your figure and skin after just a few treatments. Since it can take between 4 – 6 weeks to start seeing results, you can book that appointment before the season begins.
