How Does a Lift Happen in a Brazilian Butt Lift?

The infamous question when patients are researching the brazilian butt lift procedure is how does the lift happen in the brazilian butt lift? Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Rodriguez, MD, LLC located in Baltimore, Maryland was happy to answer this question for us.

The brazilian butt lift is a type of butt augmentation procedure performed like a fat injection procedure. It definitely looks perkier and lifted, however not exactly physically lifted with surgery.

So, how does this happen? It is all about how the eye perceives shapes. Dr. Rodriguez explains, when you are looking at the back of a typical woman what you think is the butt is really a combination of two separate fat pockets:

  • the butt itself
  • the flank or "muffin top" above the butt

These two fat volumes combined create a visual unit perceived longer than it is wide, so the butt appears to be droopy or sagging. And, from the side the buttocks appears to look flat or have no shelf, but if you eliminate that extra fat pocket above the buttock there are a lot of perception changes that result.

As you see in the picture above, the buttocks on the left looks like a long droopy oval. On the right, you can see the perkier bubble butt. By eliminating the flank fat pad, or muffin top, you are seeing the rounded, shorter buttock contrasted against a narrow waist. This makes for a beautiful contour shape of the waist, hips and buttocks.

In the side view of the picture above, the arrows show how the length of the buttocks on the left is longer than the one on the right. In this Brazilian butt liftbefore and after picture, the buttock looks shorter and rounder, not long and droopy. In addition, when the patient looks at the slope of her back and butt she will not see the straight line that looked like she had no butt or a flat butt, rather a butt shelf.

Looking closely at the bottom of the butt you can see the butt has not been lifted at all!

Dr. Rodriguez removes fat from selected areas of your body, purifies the fat, then reinjects selected donor fat cells into your buttocks. Review the comments from patients of  Dr. Rodriguez. The process of fat reinjection involves scores or hundreds of injections. The procedure is designed to fill the upper quadrant of your buttocks so that the butt appears lifted and perky. The resulting effect is that the woman appears more attractive and sensuous.

Contact Dr. Rodriguez or a plastic surgeon in your area to find out if you would be a good candidate for the Brazilian butt lift.
