Erase Years from Your Appearance with Brow Lift Surgery
Many men and women notice the signs of aging on their face first. Those deep wrinkles on your forehead and sagging skin around the eyebrow region may be adding up to a decade to your appearance, but there are some cosmetic procedures that can restore your youthful looks. Brow lift surgery, also known as a forehead lift, can erase years from your face and help you achieve a rejuvenated appearance.
Set up a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area to find out if you are a good candidate for brow lift surgery. Your surgeon will be able to explain the pros and cons of the procedure and create the best treatment plan to meet your goals.
Benefits of Brow Lift Surgery
Brow lift surgery can take several years off your appearance because it lifts and tightens the skin above the eyes and will get rid of loose and sagging skin that makes you appear sad, angry or tired. Every plastic surgeon uses a unique technique to achieve the best results, and the extent of surgery will depend on how many folds exist in the forehead region.
Some of the top benefits of brow lift surgery include:
- Tightens and strengthens the skin above the eyes
- Reduces or eliminates deep wrinkles and grooves on the forehead
- Makes the skin appear more toned and smoother
- Makes the eyes appear brighter and more youthful
- Reverses many of the signs of aging
- Can be performed on an outpatient basis
- Less downtime than facelift surgery
- Minimal pain, can be managed with prescription pain medication
- Can be performed on all skin types
- Delivers permanent results
How Brow Lift Surgery is Performed
Brow lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia or heavy sedation on an outpatient basis. The surgeon will make a series of small incisions right behind the hairline, around the temples and in the upper forehead area. The tissues may be pulled up gently and secured in place with sutures or a small screw, depending on how much sagging there is around the forehead area. The brows are elevated to just the right level to create a more youthful appearance.
After everything has been secured in place, the surgeon will close up the incisions using staples or more sutures. You can expect to see some minor swelling and bruising around the forehead and temples for a few days after the procedure, and will be given prescription pain medication to help manage the pain. You will need to reduce physical activities for at least two weeks after surgery so that your skin tissues and body can heal properly.
