Diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death in the United States in 2006 alone, and the number of people diagnose with diabetes continues to rise at an alarming rate. The Harvard School of Public Health found that people who drank at least six cups of coffee per day had a lower risk of developing Type II diabetes, than those that didn’t. You may not need to drink that much coffee to ward off diabetes, but you can keep up with your daily coffee habit, and also turn to chocolate or tea for your caffeine fix. Keep in mind that some forms of caffeine are also rich in antioxidants and potassium.
